In the unfolded depth of the field of the real, there is a mise-en-abyme of dimensions that feed back on each other and are not perceived by us. Everything is image! Matter is movement or image, and therefore it is neither a representation that is made of it, nor is it a thing independent of the subject.

Therefore, every thing in the world, every image, mirrors all the images and information in the world. One then speaks of an a-centered universal variation regime, as if the world were a single image, a unity. If everything is matter (and therefore everything is image), there exists in the universe a living matter capable of acting freely on the world. If there is no difference in nature between perception and matter, it is also true that human perception is always an arbitrary cutout of what is already in matter. And that is why the differences between perception and matter are of degree, and not of nature, because man always perceives less than what is already in matter. Perception is always an arbitrary reduction of what man sees in the material world.

Perception gives the illusion that the objects of the world are fixed or have definite forms: the tree, the stone, the ground, etc. But everything is in motion. We speak here of a fourfold identity between image, motion, light and matter. The concepts of image and movement are so interrelated that there is no distinction between them, as if the image were in consciousness, and movement, in things.

Explains Deleuze (1981 p.4): "What is there? Only movement-images. It is in itself that the image is movement and in itself that movement is image. The true unity of experience is the image-movement".
