A tribute and commemoration to the Metabolism movement in Japanese architecture.
Nakagin Capsule Tower designed by Kisho Kurokawa in the 1960’s is one of the most known examples of Metabolism and a world architecture landmark.
In 2022 after 50 years, unfortunately, the building was demolished.

This project is a speculation about building shape, scale and geometry.
And it is a simulation of an exercise that an architect Kurokawa might have done during the building design phase - trying various building parameters, like tower height, capsules geometry, details etc.

Project uses mixed pre-modeled and parametric custom 3d assets and parametric logic to generate thousands of unique building variations.

140 editions (the same as the number of steel capsules on the original building).

Capsules geometry, windows shapes, tower heights, capsules positions and floors plan, retail building, colors, number of capsules.
