Through the Lens of the Sixties

27 July 2022TEZOSIPFS

These colors symbolize hot summers in the sixties, crowded beaches, socializing of young people. They also symbolize psychedelic drugs that became very popular in the sixties. The color palette in this work is characteristic of Polaroids, which were very popular at the time, and a lot of them oversaturated every photo.

The irregular shapes we see on each iteration symbolize the young people who led the cultural revolution. They symbolize dance movements without rules. They symbolize Jimi, Janis and Woodstock. Although the shapes are without strict rules, somehow they fit together perfectly.

Big shoutout to Steve Makerspace who was a huge inspiration and Irit Yablon who saved me when things went wrong.
