This work is actually inspired by a hit meme called “The Disappointed Guy(muhammad sarim akhtar)”. The middle-aged guy in that picture wears a plaid shirt which every uncle we have seen in our life might have one. As a result, I want to create a bunch of funny uncles whose appearances are different, but everyone wears a similar plaid shirt.

Through this work, you can also see the retirement life that the uncles are going through. They are facing not only good things, but also bad things. By conquering those challenges, I think the uncles could reveal the strength that “Uncles are not only old and bald, they are also bold.”
