We’ve all experienced that — the moment we land back home and turn flight mode off: all the pings, notifications, and text messages overwhelm like a flash flood. I had an exception this time.
Long before the pandemic hit us home, I was trapped in my own pandemic.
April 2016, in the midst of Austria, I witnesses architecture without pain. Nature looked at in undiluted pleasure, enjoyment without anxiety, compunction, heartache: no masks, no hiding. It was late 2015 when I got diagnosed with a clinical depression due to illness of a loved one. Little did I knew, a trip to Austria was all I needed to escape. And let me tell you something, Austria is the stuff fairy-tales are made of.
Honestly, I can't believe Disney hasn't produced something exclusively inspired by the lakeside village of Hallstatt, ski slopes of Tyrol or the ice caves of Werfen. So here's a tribute to the wildest of Austria, a place which gave me solace.
This is from me, to you.
With Love, @Enzored.
