I used to create visual artworks through photography, and this is my first attempt at generative art, to try to present the pictures which couldn’t be done through photography.

Behind the animation, there are so many algorithms work together to simulate the appearance of trees through 2D drawing, like forking, changing directions, irregular contour, etc. And there is another set of algorithms to give the aesthetic look for them, like the change of branches’ color, the borders, and even the color of every single stroke of the tree’s texture is decided by a random number.

Controls:
- Press “r” or touch the screen to restart the growing, the result will be different every time.
- Press spacebar to stop/resume the growing.
- Press “f” to toggle the frame (will trigger a restart), there is my signature on the mat inside the frame.
- Press “s” to save the image displayed at that moment.
