T E C T O N I C A holders can order unique hand signed fine art print editions produced directly in our studio in Helsinki and shipped worldwide. Each token can be redeemed only once and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Provenance
Printed artwork and the token have the same source but separate provenances. Once the print is produced and shipped, their paths diverge, meaning the printed artwork can be kept or resold separately from the token. This is a part of our single-source-separate-provenances philosophy.

Ordering process
T E C T O N I C A is an animated digital work, while the printed artwork is a single static frame chosen by the collector from the animated cycle. The frame is exported directly from the generator in high resolution. To get the exact state of the scene the collector wants to print, we need to know the palette index number and explosion state, both expressed as URL parameters which you can add to the token's URL address in live view.
- Choosing palette cycle state
Choose the palette cycle state for your scene by setting the palette URL parameter. This is an integer starting from 0 and counting the number of colors in your iteration's palette. The best way is to try them one by one to see how they look - 0, 1, 2, 3 etc. When this parameter is set, the scene will be paused in the selected palette cycle state (no animation, but you can still explode the structure).
Example: palette=0
- Choosing explosion state
Choose the state of explosion for your scene by setting the explosion URL parameter. 0.0 is no explosion, 1.0 means full explosion. You can also choose a number in between to get different explosion states, for example 0.5 is half-way exploded etc.
Example: explosion=0.5
- Concatenate URL parameters
Test how your iteration will look like by concatenating above URL parameters with & sign and inserting them in the URL querystring when running your token in live mode. URL querystring is the part of URL address that comes after ? sign (it will already be there) and before # towards the end which indicates the start of URL fragment part.
Example: explosion=0.5&palette=0

- Choose moon phase (capture time)
Every scene (only middle triptych) has a moon, although it may be occluded by the tecton structure. The moon changes phases in sync with the actual time, with a period of 24h. If you want your print to include the moon in a specific phase, please indicate the time of the day in UTC time zone. You can get information on the current and the following moon phases of your artwork in the browser console.
- What cannot be set
If you want your print to have an exploded state, you can only choose the default explosion center. Due to its design, it is not possible to set new explosion center programmatically using URL parameters.
