Stroboscopic uses the hash to assign one of 23 designs to each mint, then assigns colors from 26 color palettes. As each Stroboscopic runs, colors rapidly cycle and create patterns than are perceived as movement. Sometimes there are only subtle variations in color that create changes that are barely discernible. Other times, the shifting of colors and contrast can be quite vibrant and even difficult to watch, as patterns of movement develop and shift rapidly. Patterns shift, pause and sometimes repeat, sometimes predictable but often totally out of control.

HOLD the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON to pause the activity.

RELEASE the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON to resume activity.

Type ‘s’ or ‘S’ to save a screen capture.

The ability to pause and capture an image while the sketch runs allows the viewer to create an almost infinite number of different still images.
