Jimi Hendrix is one of the great guitarists in music. As a Generative Artist, he pioneered with electronics, overdriven amplifiers, high volume, gain, he was instrumental in popularizing the previously undesirable sounds caused by guitar amplifier feedback, and used tone-altering effects, like distortion, wah-wah and stereophonic phasing. 
Jimi Hendrix wrote ‘Castles made of Sand’ in 1967. Sandcastles are destined to end and stand for the temporary nature of existence, of time slipping away. Each verse in the song contains universal disappointments... All is not lost, as in the last verse a suicidal girl who is "crippled for life," moving her wheelchair to the shore, seems saved by optimistic epiphany.
