sand from the depths

19 December 2022TEZOSIPFS

The color of the sand from the depths may be affected by the minerals it is made of and the conditions it has been exposed to.

For example, sand that is made up of volcanic rock may be black or dark in color, while sand made of quartz or other minerals may be lighter in color. Sand that has been subjected to high pressure or extreme temperatures at great depths may also appear different from sand found at shallower depths.

You should know that much of the ocean floor at great depths is not covered in sand, but rather is made up of other types of sediment or rock.
