“Here is one reason I think we always need new tarot decks being created. I think of tarot decks as similar to myths and so I think this quote applies: "Myths are so intimately bound to culture, time, and place that unless the symbols, the metaphors, are kept alive by constant recreation through the arts, the life just slips away from them." Joseph Campbell, The Power of Myth”

New archetypes are constantly being created to take their place alongside those of old.

To help delve into the subconscious influences that shoulder the burdens of our psyche, here is a collection of artistic renderings of the myths of our times, as written by the heroes, mages and warriors of the modern web3 world.

The images found on these cards are created by no human hands, but are the generative product of a 21st century golem in the form of artificial intelligence software (VQGAN-CLIP-ESRGAN).

The art is presented in the form of traditional tarot spreads of varying complexity. There are 13 different spreads available for minting, with rarity roughly increasing with number of cards:
- 3 card basic spread
- 4 card cross
- 5 card basic
- 6 card hexagonal
- 7 card horseshoe
- 8 card
- 9 card Celestial
- 10 card Celtic cross
- 11 card
- 12 card Zodiac
- 13 card Zodiac
- 15 card
- 21 card full Romany spread

The spread for a given mint will always be the same upon initial loading. But you can press "n" to get a new random spread (of the same size), which will always be different. This allows you to cast the cards to do a reading. There is a wealth of information on the internet about different ways to read and interpret the spread of cards. As these cards, and the archetypes they represent, are new, you are on your own to interpret their meaning as you see fit.

Press "t" to randomly spray some cards over top of the current spread. Just for fun...

Press "s" to save a high resolution version of the current view. The resolution (and image size) depends on the complexity of the spread.
