Introducing Pohā, an experiment in rotational noise, segmentation, entropy, and radial gradients.

This particle effect gives each piece an organic feeling, each grain of sand falling off course and settling near fault lines, as if a radial grid was spun and shifted about its center. Some may resemble galaxies, some dreamlike mandalas, some natural stone surfaces, some rippling liquids.

The world outside of the frame is yours to imagine, this is but a detail shot of a surface, gravitational formation, or anything you may interpret. A clear system governs the effect, but as you diverge from the center, entropy takes ownership.

Each piece can take around a minute to generate, depending on your hardware, as every Pohā calculates for 4,000,000 particles.
