Photocopied Instances of Early Digital Art

30 October 2022TEZOSIPFS

Between the 60s and 70s digital art rose into its infancy with an ascendant set of related artists that took the art higher into the realms we now enjoy. Cohen, Franke, Laposky, a whole wave of scientists and mathematicians who saw the potential of the machines they worked with on a daily basis. The oscilloscope became their canvas, and the dot matrix printer their easel.

New works were passed around in grail-like form, photocopied and twisted into new and dimensionless shapes. This is a tribute to their forms, their existence and the men and women that made it all happen.

I make processing sketches.

I don't use Twitter any more, but the old empty username is still there.
