Looking at a painting, a viewer sometimes must use their imagination to bring a painting to life. Painted rain is an effort to make it rain inside of my digital painting. After editing and cropping in Photoshop, p5js was used to enhance the original work. Rain was the main theme here, with one aim being to produce a great many variations of rain.

The challenge was to make very interesting wind and bring it to life, the way great painters do. The windmills are using GIF blinking animation style, while the rain is handled by custom 3d vector effects in p5js.


This piece can also be displayed as an animation. The feature "rainDropSize" gives a general idea of likely starting raindrop sizes and also determines if it will be a short animation ("BigDrops" means it will animate the shortest, while "MediumDrops" and "SmallDrops" means the NFT will generate for a long time, maybe long enough so that the rainstorm will pass outside. Medium Some rarity features directly enable and describe a visible feature of the NFT while other features express implied features only if higher level features are also randomly enabled in the iteration. For example "OldBranch" will only work if there is at least one tree.
