I'm fascinated by non-figurative artists focusing on pure colors, textures, basic shapes and their power of evocation when they are mixed. I especially love such huge paintings on walls of museums in front of which you can sit and let your mind wander in feelings.

Nebula Ink is my own humble research in this way using a fluid simulation engine (after "Viscous Circles" and "Forgive Your Sins" collections). I throw more or less random colorful digital ink splats in liquid that diffuse (or not) with vortices and then I apply digital pencils drawing orbital-like shapes and let colors diffuse and mix. Physics laws are not exactly the same as in real life.

Note: this is a realtime engine running on mobile, CPU and GPU. You can see tiny differences between platforms (specially on vortices) due to webgl implementation differences and math approximations. But nothing significative.

Controls

You can stop at any step if you like the state at this instant, you can restart it, de/increase resolution (default is 4096x4096 to have sharp image, up to 16K x 16K) and snapshot at any resolution.

- H: hide/show help.
- Space - pause/start animation.
- R - restart animation.
- I - hide/show res/fps panel.
- A-Q/D - down/up full resolution
- S - take full resolution snapshot

Note: When downloading image, your browser can limit max image link size (My Chrome limits to 5760x5760, Firefox no limit).

Now, let's orbit!
