The weekday series is an ongoing exercise in the art of letter drawing through use of digital tools. Letters are designed within a 3D program and rendered out for additional compositing. Using the days of the week as an anchor, each letter study gives an opportunity to explore the relationship between depth and motion and the meanings we make of communication and design where these elements interact.

This week’s letter study was focused on creating uniform designs. The best way I could think to do this was with a generative design made with Cables. This patch uses a mixture of both text meshes and texture effects ops to iterate through incoming arrays of text data and manipulates that data to create 7 unique posters for each day of the week.
