This Christmas I met the painter Philippe Demeiller, and a painting of a mirror plate of sausages intrigued me. “Ugly” things, like a plate of salchichon, when looked at in a specific way, can turn beautiful and interesting.

There's something about making art out of failure, like this olives I marinated and then washed with water, what made them lose their flavour forever.
