Hyper Threads is an LSD-laced love letter to Pseudo-Isochromatic Plates(PIPs for short), also known as Ishihara tests(1917).

Surely you remember those perception tests your favourite optometrist showed you to check on your colour blindness (before you got into NFTs). They consist of many coloured dots packed in a circle, disguising some barely visible hue-shifted number or path.

Although they have been known to induce trypophobia in some patients, these aesthetically pleasing colourful prints always felt playful and inviting to me. They undoubtedly deserve a place in a medical art museum if there ever is one.

Their inventor, Shinobu Ishihara, embraced an important formula of Japanese design: "Tap water has to be not only safe to drink, but it must be delicious".
