Bauhausstadt (Bauhaus City) is a series that draws direct inspiration from Ludwig Karl Hilberseimer's (September 14, 1885 – May 6, 1967) work on city planning through a Bauhaus lens. Specifically, the series references his illustration from Bauhaus Magazine (Number 2, 1929) depicting a sustainable relationship between humans, industry, and nature. Hilberseimer proposed that this can be achieved through the construction of human habitation that ensures security for all people against disasters and crises.

This series explores Hilberseimer's use of "protective" architecture and repetition in his work, raising questions about the aesthetic and functional value of such an approach in urban planning. Through over 200 hand-drawn/coloured illustrations and a touch of randomness, the project visually poses this question and leaves it up to the viewer to decide its worth.
