AI Humans

The ability to integrate the use of AI into my work in some capacity is something that has been circling around my head for quite some time.

The first exploration is AI Humans; for this collection, I used Stable Diffusion to create more than 200 different faces, with different traits, and different styles. Then those results were curated by a face recognition algorithm with some changed arguments in order to create some dystopian results.

The final countdown was 50 faces, then each face was separated into three layers

Top (cranium)
Features (eyes, nose, accessories)
Upper body (Neck & chin)

Once the layers were done, I ran the first generative test to discard possible errors, mostly layer positioning. Once these errors were corrected I ran a second and final version with amazing results.

Usually, the naming of the layers is referred to as the visual description of the trait, but in this case, I wanted to be something less human and more machine. For that matter, the layers are named with random numbers assigned by an algorithm. In the end, we all are just random numbers.

Some matches are not perfect and that is the idea. AI is not perfect (yet), and humans are not perfect either, but the results are really intriguing, the mix of features and styles is what makes our imagination fly.
