In Greek mythology, Aethra is the name of a princess of Troezen, who plays a significant role in the story of Theseus. Aethra was the mother of Theseus, one of the great heroes of ancient Greece. Her tale is intertwined with divine intervention, as she was visited by both the mortal king Aegeus and the god Poseidon on the same night.

According to myth, Aethra was instructed by her father, King Pittheus, to sleep with Aegeus, the king of Athens, as part of a plan to ensure the birth of a strong and noble heir. The following night, Poseidon, the god of the sea, also visited her. Thus, Theseus was born with both divine and royal parentage.

The name Aethra itself, meaning "clear sky" or "pure light," reflects the purity and strength that Theseus would inherit. The story of Aethra is one of courage, divine influence, and the power of destiny. Her name, tied to the clear sky, can symbolize hope, clarity, and the guiding light of potential, much like the way a hero is shaped by forces beyond their control.


In this project, I tried to create a sense of brightness by using the circle packing algorithm and combining neon colors. The idea came to mind when I was fascinated by the brightness of lamps and even stars in the night sky. I hope you enjoy viewing the glowing previews as much as I enjoyed creating them.
