A broken twill takes an orderly pattern and breaks it around the edges, shattered elements cascading into the body of the composition, briefly animated before capturing the destruction mid-decay.

The work is based on an artwork I created many years ago as a digital illustration.
Now as a generative artwork it has new energy and endless combinations.

The pattern is in my preferred graphical style, inspired by herringbone tweed and parkay flooring, with a bright and digital colour pallet.

There are several colour combinations for the pattern and the background its destruction reveals. The pieces cascade and flip over as they fall, the rear coloured as the background is. There is a flipping effect also for most variations.

For some variations there may be only a hint of destruction - others may have half the pattern disturbed. Play with the variations button to get a feel for the work.
