(Rect)ified Algo
IPFS
12 November 2024•TEZOS•IPFS
The name **Rectified Algo** was chosen because the algorithm used in this project adjusts itself. In other words, the rotational algorithm that drives the movement of the rects across the canvas attempts to display a structured, symmetrical overall appearance.
In several of my previous projects, I distanced myself from algorithmic movement in order to dedicate enough time to create this project. In this work, the rectangles move in a completely algorithmic manner, attempting to create a symmetrical visual structure through their motion. As you can observe, two distinct sets of rectangles are in motion, and they are connected to each other by curved lines. These lines vary in density in different areas of the canvas, based on the movement pattern of the rectangles. Each set consists of 150 squares, which rotate around the X-axis. The reason for this rotation is that, unlike a cube, a square lacks depth. To fill this void and prevent areas of the canvas from remaining empty, this rotation is applied. The distance between these two moving sets varies, and with each new variation, depending on the movement algorithm, the rotation style, and the spacing between elements, you can notice many differences.
The pattern created by these movements is constantly evolving, and the algorithm adapts in each instance to produce a unique variation. This dynamic system offers endless possibilities for how the project might look in different iterations.
I hope you enjoy this Rectify!
