Rotation's Logic

16 June 2022TEZOSIPFS

Squares within squares rotate blindly, according to the whims of repetitive, frame-reduced noise. Colours harmonize within the spiralling dance of the squares, with subtle shadowing and overlaid gradients producing context and ground.

Sizes vary based on the piece's hash value, and the number of squares as well as their velocity, rotation and vibrancy are also affected.

Rotation's Logic is a piece of music by the Greek composer Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou, known to the world as the mighty Vangelis, taken from his 1994 album ‘Direct’, which promised further works on the same, accessible pop style. These works never materialised, and Vangelis' later works veered back towards the depths of space that had featured early on in his career with works like ‘Albedo 0.39’.
