The piece evokes images of dusty blackboards at the end of the school day, with smudged records of every chalk stroke scratched and partially erased by bored instructors.

Added at the end are colored vertical lines, in the style of Barnett Newman's 'zips', providing a subtle tension reflecting the emotional state of the harried educators.
