The making of - Hope

The beginning and current (middle to come)
The idea of a collection about hope came after exploring my feelings of being let down by the the political system. Exploring these feeling led me to thinking about the ebbs and flows of life more generally. The title “Hope” is my reminder to stay hopeful in times of sorrow, and be grateful in times of plenty.
More broadly, this idea is culturally relevant and universally relatable.
The collection Hope at its simplest form is a brush stroke across a canvas. Up and down, and big and small, the brush stroke expresses emotion and perspective. The brush stroke carries degrees of simplicity and beauty as well as expresses a wide range of emotions.
At the start, we matched colour palettes to emotions. We soon learned that no one palette matches back to a clear emotion for ALL humans. We would review a single colour palette and brush combination and pull out completely different interpretations. This insight led us to inject more abstraction into the project.
We invite you to overlay your personal experience on the different colour palettes, brush styles, and movements. Some lines are just drifting across the canvas, not a worry in sight, if that’s how you want to see them.
On collection size, we decided on an edition count of 500, burning half of any unminted each week. There are many possible outputs here that we love, we just want to give it breathing room so that the spectrum of outputs can be experienced.
On pricing, we're using a reverse Dutch Auction mechanism to reward early minters, starts at 1 xtz, increases to 2 xtz after 24 hours, and increases by +1 xtz each week. Also to reward minters, we included that they'll receive 20% of all secondary royalties (this means that if you participate in the initial mint, you'll see royalties for that art work as it changes hands over time).

We’re very happy with how the project has turned out. It’s true to our original vision and inspiration while embracing the medium of generative art. We look forward to seeing the mints and we hope you love them.
