I had developed some websites in past for few business in the past years as a freelancer about 6-8 weeks ago I heard a conversation between two other guys talking about NFTs and how easy it is to make money through this. Looking for something to do, I joined in the conversation. The guys were quite friendly and showed me how to setup a wallet and even helped me with a small amout to create a profile for me on fxhash.
Having development background, I was quick to pickup that these generative NFTs can be coded with JavaScript. So I felt confident that I can create something quite soon. After a few hours of imagination I decided to go with a piece of art where I can show a field of flowers with honeybees.
Once I started coding than I realized p5js is a little bit different and I was being restricted in so many ways as in web development we hardly used shapes and lines. Mostly we used it for background functionality and data validation.
Anyway now I was in this puddle and had to get across. So carrying on although I was restricted, still I end up with geometrical flowers and Bees as below.
Yes loads of code and lines and shapes but results were achieved, Its was time to post it. I approached fxhash docs, read about process went to mint and posted the project, my bad that I rephrased some text from another source just to have some text and did not mention the source.
Having said that my project was marked copyright with no further info or contact. I reposted with copyright file and mention copyright in description, marked copyright again, still no contact or support to enlighten the situation. It went on for days... I reposted without text, still marked copyright, than I had to go to discord and after few hours I finally get to know what was wrong.
That's where I thought maybe this platform needs more than just marking things Copyright, maybe a line a or two of text : just to state what happened and why it happened. From an artist point of view it will be helpful to know what needs to be fixed here. Anyways that being understood I asked few support people a simple question, May I change to a new profile as I want to start with a fresh and I was told its okay to start fresh. So I created a fresh profile and reposted my project.
Moving on I saw a few profiles of people with no past projects on fxhash, no history and few not even have a profile name and holding verified badges.
So I asked for a verification, was told I can never be verified
the reason is because I used some text and did not mention the source, come on I understand there as a mistake but I spent over 3 weeks writing 400 lines of code with calculations and I don't even deserve a chance for a line of text which I rephrased in my own words. Anyways that conversation ended up with me getting a server ban on discord for 7 days. So project was halted, hence I went on to OBJKT and posted it there after taking few pictures of my project.
After that my server ban was lifted and I decided to come back and post a project, I was certainly doing a lot of learning and now had better flowers in shape of "Botanic Gardens" and a much better color scheme as some people suggested me on the server. Project was posted and sold out and was looking good. Now people started mentioning 2nd sales and wallets, and not having much knowledge I asked a few question to understand what's going on. Someone saying looks suspicious, someone saying its nothing you can do, you did nothing wrong, so no clue what's happening.
In come the big man, and asks me who funded your previous account, answer was simple that guy who I met in a public park on a cricket game. Now he say, that account was funded by an account2 which was funded by and account3 which also had funded someone in the past. Now one guy comes and points out that account3 was funded by an account4 and the moderator says, NO account4 has nothing to do with this.
Upon a short search account4 is a Verified User (FRIEND), hence he is not to be blamed in anything.
Anyways, I might leave this platform for good as I have lost faith in their policies and seriously this platform is all about double standards. I can show 10 users who have done a lot of things and that is only okay because they are either friends or friend's friend.
I would really hope that fxhash team will put a few hours and clearly state all there policies in docs, so the same rules can apply to everyone. Transparency is the key to hold peoples trust, or else you will just end up losing and nobody will stay here with loyalty.
1 - I really hope best for this platform and really hope it will put those policies in bold and beautiful text in docs for public view and only than everyone can understand everything better.
2 - Add a short description to profile and projects when they get moderated.
3 - Verification should be at least for people with a full profile name and links filled up.
4 - Same set of rules should apply from top to bottom / bottom to top if you still want to differentiate.
