Survival

It takes a lot of courage just to leave the house these days. The world declined just as everyone said it would. We never learned and we never got better. All you can do now is choose between a temporary painful existence or an early demise. Some of us remain, just to be alone with our thoughts before we're gone.

I make my way through the ruins of the city, not to look for food or supplies, I just have a lot on my mind. Walking helps me work out my thoughts, it makes up for the lack of people to talk to. Of course I sometimes fantasize about the conversations I want to have. It's sad.

I just wish my friends knew how lonely it was, but they're dead. And I myself, just a shadow of the man I used to be, walking around hell just to pass time. Just to simply exist, I survive. I survive just enough to be alone with my thoughts. Where am I?
