A hand can move in many directions but limited. Fingers and the palm, limited by wrist movements, move in an even more restricted way, biased by the memory of the body.

What a hand does just making marks is a mirror to what's inside a body. The memory of our bodies includes things that are not in our lives but also before, in the whole evolution of our species. And our whole faber memory, visual and tactile, includes all the previous history of writing and symbols and signs, but not as shelves with language operating as an efficient machine, but more like a monster, made of nerves and pain and wars and exploitation and pleasure and desire.
