Organic Diffusion
written by DisruptedStar
Organic Diffusion was available to mint the 21st March 2024 at 8pm CET.
After a first phase, the project is now in Pause. Do not know what will happen in the future...
Seed selection/production
While Organic Diffusion is a params fxhash project... it contains in fact only one parameter which is a Seed number from 0 to 999. A hidden parameter is the minter's wallet address. The 1000 seeds will be always the same for a given minter but transfering a ticket to another wallet will create a different set of seeds specific for this wallet.
The choice of 1000 seeds stems from the desire to ensure all minters are satisfied with their minted creations. Additionally, having a larger number of seeds allows individuals to purchase several and have a diverse range of options to choose from. While I initially requested a feature that would have led to a different mechanics, I am content with this approach as it fulfills the goal of providing a wide selection for minters.
You won't have to spend hours examining the seeds in the minting environment manually. I've developed an automatic seed generator for you. It will sequentially produce the 1000 seeds in low resolution (still 1 MB per image, totaling 1 GB). It's best to let it run overnight, and by morning, you'll have your 1000 seeds ready for selection. The ID of each seed is included in the image name, so all you need to do is delete the images you don't like, which will significantly speed up the process.
How to start the process ? Follow the list :
- log in to fxhash and make sure your tezos wallet is set
- go to Organic Diffusion : https://www.fxhash.xyz/generative/slug/organic-diffusion
- click on the params (just under the token image)
- in principle you should see here the seeds you would mint with your wallet
- go and check seed 0 and 1 for example
- at the bottom left of the page you should see 2 icons, click on the one with a square and an arrow
- it opens the current seed in a new tab of your browser
- go on this tab (take few seconds to make sure the &fxminter=yyyyyy in the URL corresponds to your wallet)
- to start the automatic process : press a
- and you should see the process start with seed 0 and then when completed process seed 1, etc... up to 999
- all images will be stored in general in your Download folder or something similar, take care to move them in a dedicated folder
After the images have been generated, you can simply select the ones you don't like and remove them. Each image contains the Seed ID in its name, making it easy to identify and study your preferred options after this initial selection. Following a first pass based on visual appeal, color, or any other criteria you prefer, you'll need to delve deeper to understand what lies hidden within each seed.
Features and description
Let's be clear. We do not know much about the living creature we're observing. Scientists have tried their best to isolate characteristics, but there is no consensus. You'll have to be your own judge and trust what you see...
The first concept to grasp is that of Phase (it took years to comprehend it and obtain proof of its reality). A phase encapsulates the entire living form in a unique given state (to be more precise, within a given state there exists both the core and the envelope; I'll elaborate on these concepts later). Your artwork can consist of anywhere from one to seven phases. The Phase Types - Alpha, Beta, etc. - denote different states that populate the phases. If there is only one type and seven phases, it implies that all occupied phases are of the same type (though they may have different specific settings). There can be up to four Phase Types.
Void which binds (name from Hyperion book series by Dan Simmons) is the fraction of the Phases occupied by this specific matter. Express as a fraction (2/6 for example, means that out of 6 phases 4 are occupied by the living form with given Phase Types, and 2 are occupied by the Void which binds).
The palette can either be "Algor" or a specific palette name. "Algor" signifies that the colors are generated through an algorithmic process. For the palette name, it indicates the name of the palette used to color the core across all phases. However, the envelope color may vary for different phases, depending on the feature "Phase Color Schema," which is set to "different" if multiple envelope colors are used, or "same" if the color pattern remains consistent across all phases..
"BW" indicates whether there is a mysterious white substance incorporated into the composition of the phases and denotes its significance.
The "Phase Focus Factor" is a parameter that indicates the perceived speed of evolution. A high value suggests that living forms will undergo abrupt changes, while a low value implies that significant time is required to observe any effects.
"Magnification" provides information on the current level of zoom being utilized.
"Grain" is associated with describing the apparent surface state, a detail on which researchers do not universally agree.
The "Perturbation level" is linked to dark shapes traversing the images. Initially thought to be disturbances in the optics, it appears to be more complex, as these shapes evolve over time. Their precise nature remains unknown.
Glitches: Due to optic defects, minor glitches appear on the edges of the images.
Vortex and Tidal Forces: These phenomena are associated with space deformations observed in certain specimens.
Symmetry: Some have observed an apparent symmetry, prompting the need for more rare unique Phase to study the details further.
Final advice
Make sure to test your seeds in standalone mode with the size of your display (you can set explicitely the size by adding parameters to the URL &W=1920&H=1080). Try it on your TV !
Let it animates for some time before deciding...
Very important is to decide if you prefer slow/rapid evolution... It can be altered after by pressing the f key, but not as convenient as the artwork running directly...
Good hunt.
Phases 1 Challenge
I'm offering free tickets for each first Phases 1 of different types that are minted.
All the different Phases 1 have been found. Challenge is terminated.
