Between everyday tasks and accelerated routines we start to live in automatic mode without realizing it. Social and personal requirements limit the field of creation, building a biased existence. However, there are ways to expand these senses, to open the doors of perception. Finding methods to experience and use the Immanent energy that we often fail to use.

For every individual, the planet Earth is the first horizon of meaning, the spacetime location within the world provides the first existential coordinates of any subject. Social and cultural signifiers configure the operating system that is passed on from birth. The idiom, the language, what is transmitted by religious and family traditions, what is learned at school and in the family, all this constitutes the operating system, forming the invisible garment that covers our body and sensory apparatus. The way we perceive the world and existence are social constructions within a given historical and geographical context.

Each collectivity creates instruments that allow the sharing of their experiences, various forms of conception and expression of the senses. Inside of a society of extreme social inequalities, class positions and privileges are strong factors in the construction of everyday experience. The pressure of tasks, socially imposed needs, direct existence.

Routine and everyday life tend to naturalize signs, for example, as pedestrians or drivers we follow traffic rules, unconsciously trusting others to do the same. Without realizing it, we make use of a large number of social conventions, gestures, attitudes, statements, the accuracy of certain perceptual aspects to the detriment of others are historical constructions. In day-to-day experiences, much of the sharing occurs automatically. The operating system tends to naturalize its meanings and statements, causing most of the signs that form the communicational repertoire to be used tacitly.

At work, at leisure, an immense range of discourses form statements that give content to experiences. We are so used to such things that we are surprised to come across something that deviates from them. There is no subjective reality as an ontological form of existence. Given the above, we can say that the current capitalist society acts as a hegemonic operating system. Seeking to frame the creative processes in ready territories that aim for normality, understood as the ideality of life proposed by its statements. Ultimately, intending to take ownership of all aspects of life.

In this line of thought I remember the book The Doors of Perception, written by Aldous Huxley. For the author, the brain and the nervous system are a reducing valve that, through the selective nature of memory and the restrictions imposed by language, prevents humans from being crushed by the torrent that emanates from Omniscience (a force present throughout the cosmos that encompasses all knowledge and all time) in potential to which it is subject. This reductive system allows what will be useful for survival to pass through, allowing the entry of a thin thread of Omniscience that we are capable of withstanding. Poetically, inspired by William Blake, Huxley calls this reductive system the “doors of perception”. It is through them that the power enters the subjective plane, in this way we can say that there is a healthy coefficient for this opening.

Buried by the system’s impositions, the brain keeps the doors of perception closed, starting to live in an automatic response mode. Life in a de-energized everyday life. It is difficult to talk about subjective suffering in a society with so many ills, even the possibility of reflecting on such a subject is a privilege in the face of the daily injuries of a large part of the population. In this text we intend to highlight a point, the opening of the doors of perception as a possibility of expansion and health.

There are different ways to reach degrees of openness: meditative states, physical disciplines, exercises, religious trances, fasts, orgasmic experiences, different types of psychoactive substances, all these are examples among others as possible keys to open the doors of perception. When experiencing perceptual expansion, we come into contact with the plasticity of intensities without these being linked to any sense or sign, belonging to the plane that ontologically animates and constitutes reality in its different variations.

A simple truth that we often forget, we are part of and made of the energy that emanates from the Omniscient plane. As automatons, living in the comfortable world of symbols, we tend to take the operating system’s meanings as absolutes. Falling into the mistake of considering limited knowledge as the only possibility and only expression of truth.

Put this way, there is a degree of health achieved by opening the doors of perception, the possibility of touching creative impulses, whether to create artistic works or new ways of facing everyday life. Returning to Huxley, we can understand the psychedelic experience as the light that allows the creative dimension of the world to appear. Making it clear how most of the time overestimated factors generate stress and anguish, while what can act as a source of vital energy is ignored.

We seem to live in the great Platonic error of separating existing and becoming. Unfortunately, we remain too caught up in the programming of the capitalist operating system and tend to live with the doors of perception closed. Restricting vital creative energy at the expense of the destructive energy of constant production in consumption.

Apontamentos sobre Saúde e Psicodelia #01

O sistema operacional e a dimensão criativa.

Entre afazeres cotidianos e rotinas aceleradas sem perceber passamos a viver em modo automático. As exigências sociais e pessoais limitam o campo de criação, construindo uma existência enviesada. Entretanto, existem maneiras de expandir estes sentidos, abrir as portas da percepção. Encontrar formas de experienciar e usar a energia Imanente que muitas vezes deixamos de utilizar.

Para todo indivíduo o planeta Terra é o primeiro horizonte de sentido, a localização espaçotemporal dentro do mundo fornece as primeiras coordenadas existenciais de qualquer sujeito. Significantes sociais e culturais configuram o sistema operacional que vai sendo passado desde o nascimento. A língua, a linguagem, o que é transmitido por tradições religiosas e familiares, o que se aprende na escola e na família, tudo isso constitui o sistema operacional, formando a vestimenta invisível que recobre nosso corpo e aparato sensorial. O modo como percebemos o mundo e a existência são construções sociais dentro de um determinado contexto histórico e geográfico.

Cada coletividade cria instrumentos que possibilitam a partilha de suas experiências, variadas formas de concepção e expressão dos sentidos. Dentro de uma sociedade de extremas desigualdades sociais, posições de classe e privilégios são fortes fatores na construção da experiência cotidiana. A pressão dos afazeres, as necessidades socialmente impostas, direcionam a existência.

A rotina e o cotidiano tendem a naturalizar os signos, por exemplo, como pedestres ou motoristas seguimos as regras de trânsito, inconscientemente confiando que outros farão o mesmo. Sem perceber fazemos uso de grande quantidade de convenções sociais, gestos, atitudes, enunciados, a acurácia de certos aspectos perceptuais em detrimento a outros são construções históricas. Nas vivências do dia a dia, grande parte da partilha ocorre de maneira automática. O sistema operacional tende a naturalizar seus sentidos e enunciados, fazendo com que grande parte dos signos que formam o repertório comunicacional sejam usados de maneira tácita.

No trabalho, no lazer, uma imensa gama de discursos formam enunciados que conferem conteúdo às experiências. Estamos tão habituados a tais signos que ficamos surpresos ao nos depararmos com algo que deles desvie. Não há uma realidade subjetiva como forma ontológica da existência. Dado o exposto, podemos dizer que a atual sociedade capitalista atua como sistema operacional hegemônico. Procurando enquadrar os processos criativos em territórios prontos que almejam a normalidade, entendida como a idealidade de vida proposta por seus enunciados. Em última instância, pretendendo se apropriar de todos os aspectos da vida.

Nesta linha de pensamento lembro o livro As portas da Percepção, escrito por Aldous Huxley. Para o autor, o cérebro e o sistema nervoso são uma válvula redutora que, por meio do caráter seletivo da memória e das restrições impostas pela linguagem, impede que o humano seja esmagado pela torrente que emana da Onisciência (força presente em todo o cosmos que engloba todo o saber e todo o tempo) em potencial ao qual está sujeito. Esse sistema redutor permite passar aquilo que será útil para sobrevivência, permitindo a entrada de um minguado fio da Onisciência que somos capazes de suportar. Poeticamente, inspirado em William Blake, Huxley chama este sistema redutor de “portas da percepção”. É através delas que a força entra no plano subjetivo, desta maneira podemos dizer que há um coeficiente saudável para essa abertura.

Soterrados pelas imposições do sistema, o cérebro mantém fechadas as portas da percepção, passando a viver em um modo automático de resposta. Vida em um cotidiano desenergizado. É difícil falar sobre sofrimento subjetivo em uma sociedade de tantas mazelas, mesmo a possibilidade de refletir sobre tal assunto é um privilégio frente às injúrias do dia a dia de grande parte da população. Neste texto pretendemos destacar um ponto, a abertura das portas da percepção como possibilidade de expansão e saúde.

Existem diferentes formas para alcançar graus de abertura: estados meditativos, disciplinas físicas, exercícios, transes religiosos, jejuns, experiências orgásticas, diferentes tipos de substâncias psicoativas, todos estes são exemplos entre outros como possíveis chaves para abrir as portas da percepção. Ao experienciar a expansão perceptual entramos em contato com a plasticidade das intensidades sem que estas estejam ligadas a algum sentido ou signo, pertencentes ao plano que ontologicamente anima e constitui a realidade em suas diferentes variações.

Uma simples verdade que frequentemente esquecemos, somos parte e feitos da energia que emana do plano Onisciente. Como autômatos, vivendo no confortável mundo dos símbolos, tendemos a tomar os sentidos do sistema operacional como absolutos. Caindo no equívoco de considerar o saber limitado como única possibilidade e única expressão da verdade.

Colocado desta forma, há um grau de saúde alcançado pela abertura das portas da percepção, possibilidade de tocar impulsos criativos, seja para criar obras artísticas ou novas formas de encarar o cotidiano. Retornando a Huxley, podemos entender a experiência psicodélica como a luz que permite a dimensão criativa do mundo aparecer. Deixando evidente como na maior parte do tempo fatores superestimados geram estresse e angústia, enquanto aquilo que pode atuar como fonte de energia vital é ignorado.

Parecemos viver no grande erro platônico de separar o existir e o tornar-se. Infelizmente permanecemos demasiadamente presos nas programações do sistema operacional capitalista e tendemos a viver com as portas da percepção fechadas. Restringindo a energia criativa vital em detrimento a energia destrutiva da constante produção em consumo.
