GuilVille: City Skyscrapers, Official Collector's Guide
written by frostbitten
First off, thank you for collecting our work! It's the fruit of many months of labor between Guillaume Cornet and myself, Matthew Seremet. We hope you enjoy poking around the city and finding little vignettes. Now, let's go over a few of the extra tools you have been given.
The Controls
Mobile/Touch
- Pinch to zoom
- Drag to move
- Tap to follow (doesn't work on some devices)
Computer/Keyboard
- [ S ] Settings panel
- [ Spacebar ] Pause/Resume

- [ T ] Traits list.
- Click to drag

- Hold [ Alt ] and click to peek behind layers
The Main Menu
Have you noticed this Elephant icon in the corner? Click or Tap on it to open the main menu.
Or if you're on the keyboard you can press [M]
Updating
You'll find an option to Update within the Main Menu. This allows us to provide supplemental updates to the city such as bug fixes, ease of use, potential export features, and more.
You can also get to the update menu on Keyboard by pressing [ U ]
Bugs and Workarounds
There are a few minor bugs unfortunately but they are all manageable with few steps.
- Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Arc, etc) below version 120 on MacOS sometimes fail to generate the correct city layout. However it still generates some sort of city layout so it's hard to notice without comparing the thumbnail to the output. FIX: Ensure your browser is up to date, at least version 120 (other browsers based on Chrome might need a few days before an update becomes available). Or, open the Update panel and use the latest version.
- Helicopter blades when using Low Res assets are misaligned. FIX: Open the Setting panel and change the assets to "Full HD." Or, alternatively open the Update panel and use the latest version.
- Zooming out with mouse wheel on Mac in Chrome is buggy. FIX: Open the Update panel and use the latest version.
Updates
All updates are published to IPFS and routed through our friendly domain name "skyscrapers.guil.city". You can find the IPFS hash for each update next to the date.
