Inspiration

In the midst of life's unpredictable twists and turns, there stand three pillars of strength and love in my life – E, V, and J. Each one, with their unique quirks and affections, has painted my world in vibrant colors. They are the driving forces behind this artistic venture, each piece capturing the essence of their multifaceted personalities.

My beloved E, V, and J... every piece of art on this series is an expression of my gratitude and love for you. I cannot fathom a world where your laughter, joy, and love do not touch my life daily. Thank you for seeing beyond my imperfections, for embracing my flaws, and for loving me unconditionally. This project, playful and light-hearted as it might seem, is a tribute to you. To the joy you bring, to the lessons you teach, and to the memories we create together.

Composition

Each "EVJ" layout is determined by a grid of two randomly chosen horizontal and vertical phi values. Once these axes are set, elements like brush strokes, typography, and graphics are drawn, rotated, sized, and distorted randomly along these axes. Compositional complexity determines how many elements get painted onto the canvas.

Typography

Typography is a cornerstone of EVJ. Every typographic detail is crafted using the Alternate Gothic No1 letterpress set, pressed by hand. These typographic pieces are then transformed into SVG files, which are further integrated as vector objects in JavaScript.

Brush/Graphical Elements

"EVJ" is fundamentally rooted in a mix of typography, brushwork, and graphic components. Each artwork is painted by a finely tuned algorithm designed to depict the unique essence of each subject. Embedded statistical anomalies enhance the intricacy, capturing and emphasizing the distinct moments and subtle details within each piece.

Color

The EVJ algorithm incorporates ten color palettes, each with a probability that shifts depending on the subject. The following table showcases the color palettes and their average rarities. Every palette is comprised of a hand-curated set of colors, each with varying probabilities. Designed with whimsy, these palettes reflect the character of the subjects and nod playfully to their favorite pop culture references.
