Hashed Arcs, Yazid
Published August 30, 2022
Hashed Arcs is Yazid’s genesis piece on fx(hash), coming out just six days after fx(hash) opened the doors to mint. These randomized arc segments were a one tez mint and exist as a collection of 360. Three styles defined the color and aesthetic with Light, Dark, and Mondrian and had varying densities possible with High, Medium, and Low. One of the more interesting items in the deca gallery linked in this article is the display of the improbably minimal arcs.
Yazid is active on fx(hash), artblocks, objkt, teia (formerly hic et nunc), versum, rarible, foundation, typed, and 8bidou. These days, minting on both ethereum and tezos is increasingly common, especially with generative NFT artists. Looking at longform and curated generative projects, we can see at least 12 clear examples on tezos in Yazid’s current body of work.
To frame some of the elements of Yazid’s work, who better to select outputs to observe than the artist.

If anything, hashed arcs are deliberate – which is something that was not always a given in this first week of fx(hash). Quite frankly it was the beta and nobody knew if this was all just going to disappear one day. Sometimes it is worth a trip to those early days by sorting by the oldest minted projects. It was and will be remembered as a formidable start to the legacy of this platform; artists such as Yazid imparted credibility and a foundation to build on by simply participating.

Also on fx(hash), Yazid has created the following in chronological order: Lost Twins, Hashed Cities, Ode to Random, Outside your Window, (kinder)Garden Monuments, and Gestalt.
On hic et nunc, Yazid created a number of curated projects such as “Generative Abstract Series”, “The [Meta] Instructions”, “Hatched Forms”, and other short form projects throughout. More recently on objkt, Yazid’s “365” has auctioned off a minimalist representation for each day of the year, and is still in progress as of this mint. Finally, on the ethereum side, Automatism creates a freestyle look at digital brush strokes on a canvas.
Turner Light, Wang Hsin-Jen (a.k.a. Aluan Wang)
Published September 2, 2022
Turner Light is Aluan's latest piece on fx(hash), but the first piece on a secondary account. This 300 edition piece minted out at dutch auction's first tier on August 1st, 2022. It is an incredible opportunity given to the community; already galleries and museums such as MOCA Taipei have featured Aluan's work.
Aluan is active on fx(hash), artblocks, akaswap, typed, objkt, and beyondnft. For the purposes of this article, we will be looking only at tezos platform fx(hash). An incredible starting point to understand some of this work is his portfolio at aluanwang.com.
Inspired by William Turner, Aluan noted that "Turner was one of the greatest English landscape painters. He influenced Impressionist and Modern painting. I believe that generative art cannot be decontextualization and this is my tribute to the past." In Aluan's portfolio we can even find a quote from Turner displayed - "Light is therefore colour". Turner light makes you sit in front of whatever screen you are at and just stare. It entices you to learn more of what it might contain. From what I have seen, Aluan is an incredible steward and advocate for his art. I have no doubt that Turner Light will one day end up in museum collections.
