Parameters
« Wavelength persistence » offers three main parameters : λ signature, spectrum shift, and path. Here is a short description of their effects.
λ signature
Select the color system that will be applied to the experience.
Color system | Description |
---|---|
9 | A blend of gold and pink, with a touch of blue. |
Æthereal blue | Blue experience : cold visual but high temperature. |
Chromatic Experience | A bright and complete spectrum with variable saturation. |
Cosmic | A blend of gold, orange, pink and blue. These high-contrast colors illuminate down to the smallest pixel. |
Distant memories | Full spectrum of displayable colors. Less saturated than "Chromatic experience". |
Echoes of the heat | Signature palette : a gradient of thermic simulation with temperatures from 600 to 20 000 K. |
Intense refraction | Full spectrum defying the limits of displayable colors. |
Ultraviolet | Ultra or violet ? Extraterrestrial or microbe killer, it depends... |
Spectrum shift
Allows to reorder the colors : if you prefer a different central color, change this parameter or use 'Fortune' to find unique combinations.
Each color system is ordered from the center outwards. This spectrum shift parameter applies a cyclical offset allowing to change the central and dominant colors of the experience.
For Echoes of the heat, spectrum shift controls the average temperature of the system. From 3500K to 10000K. Please try different hashes as this palette has non-param random settings.
Path (capture only)
The effects of this parameters are only visible on the final 4K static capture. See examples.
Time-like
Time is change, evolution. During the capture process, the interest points are oscillating around their position, drawing complex signals from the center outwards.
Light-like
For photons, time doesn't exist. This setting creates fluid light signals.
Examples
Here a description of chosen params and their effects on the capture.
The Intense refraction color system in all its glory. Here the Spectrum shift is maximal, with the spectrum starting with red on the center, going blue outwards. The Path to Light-like creates these smooth curves. The Persistence feature is random (depends on hash) and creates "breaks" in the direction of these curves.
Echoes of the heat color system with a high average temperature bring lot of pale gold and bright blue. The effect of the Time-like Path are visible on the small oscillations drawn by the light curves that can evoke lightnings or sparks.
The Intense refraction color system with a Spectrum shift of 0 also puts red on the center. But here, randomness (determined by hash) is at play and brings a different variation of saturation, combined with the Time-like Path to offer subtle and surprising details.
Controls
- Use the "SPACE" key to capture a snapshot of the current frame from the live animation
- Use the "X" key to make the system evolve now.
