Along with the skills I sharpened and the sheer joy of it all, the aspect of Genuary 2023 that I treasure most is the deepening relationships I developed throughout the month with other participants as we shared and discussed our work. The prompt for Jan. 24 was Textile. In the days leading up to it, I racked my brain for inspiration. Eventually, I followed a path from textile to fabric, and then from fabric as literal cloth to fabric in the broader sense - the fabric of space, the fabric of life, the fabric of a community. I built my entry around that idea, and it is the idea that I decided to carry forward into the Genuary 32 event on fx(hash). As the warp and weft of a textile weave the individual fibers into cloth, the intersections of individuals in our community are what give the community its wonderful beauty, diversity, and strength. It is these relationships that I seek to celebrate with the project, Genuary 32nd: Intersections.

In minting the project, I allowed myself to be rushed and I forgot to mention a couple of things that should have been included in the description. The piece is interactive. Pressing "d" or "D" in live mode will download the image. By pressing "s" or "S", a high resolution version suitable for printing can be created (and subsequently downloaded using the d keys). The dimensionless design responds to window size, and the work is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

I feel that I ought also to say something about the price. The rules of the Genuary 32 event called for 32 editions priced at 32 tez each. That may seem high for the work of an artist relatively new to the genArt space. I offer two things that may ease your concerns if you like the work but are hesitating on price. First of all, both primary and secondary sales are split 50-50 with Girls Who Code. It's a bit like overpaying for Grandma's Italian Cream Cake at the latest local fundraiser. The second thing that I will note is that I have just begun a long experiment in which all my new work (non event related) is being offered free of charge to my existing collectors. The first piece in the experiment was What If, released in Jan, 2023. There will be at least five more releases over the coming five months (as discussed here). Collecting Genuary32nd: Intersections automatically puts you in line for these free mints.

In any case, I invite you to enjoy the work.

Love and creativity always,
